The Engineering Technician will perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed and will select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from Supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently.\nResponsibilities:\nEssential functions will include:\nProvide technical manual updates/revisions\nProvide Preventative Maintenance Systems (PMS) updates/revisions\nLogistics research/tracking and updating\nDrafting, reviewing, and routing submarine battery operating procedures\nProvide Battery performance analysis\nAutomatic Battery Monitoring System (ABMS) troubleshooting and repair\nUpdates to Fleet training\nParticipate in face-to-face meetings with NAVSEA sponsors, installing/maintenance activities and battery vendors\nAnalysis and presentation of fleet operational data for ISEA review\nProvide on-site fleet technical assistance and report evaluation to ISEA, who will provide concurrence and/or communicate recommendations through established routes.\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in electronics with a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience.\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience operating, maintaining, or supporting systems on submarines is required.\nIntermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint\nAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts\nStrong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team\n\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds\nMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time\nMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically\nSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the secret level. Applicants who currently hold a secret clearance are encourage to apply.
