Controls Engineer","description":"The Process Controls Engineer is a key member of the maintenance team responsible for designing, developing, and managing the equipment to monitor and control mine Process Controls and related systems (Instrumentation, Automation, Network, Video Camera and HMI systems).\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.\nCreate and implement new strategies to improve process efficiency.\nDevelop and design automation processes.\nDesign, test, and participate in the implementation of new processes in and around all of Lucky Friday’s Operations.\nDesign and retrofit existing systems as needed.\nAddress hardware, software, and instrument problems.\nParticipate in the Electrical/Process Controls department improvement processes.\nWork collaboratively with IT, Engineering, Mine Operations, Mill Operations, Maintenance, and other departments as needed to accomplish goals.\nWorking with the Electrical Foreman, responsible for the reliability and integrity of all systems including mine and mill instrumentation, sensors/analyzers, PLC’s, Leaky Feeder, radio coverage, etc.\nManage contract work as needed to accomplish goals, ensuring the required contracts are in place and contractors are adhering to all Lucky Friday requirements.\nUpdate computer software as needed, and test procedures.\nManage projects within cost and time constraints.\nMaintain reporting procedures and develop reports as required.\nManage capital projects related to electrical as needed, including developing and evaluating Authorization for Expenditures (AFE’s) for capital funding requests.\nParticipate in Risk Assessment activities as required.\nParticipate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include:\nBachelor’s degree with heavy emphasis in Process Controls such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.\nPrior experience in process controls engineering or a related field.\nExperience in mining industry and power distribution preferred, including a general knowledge of surface, underground and concentrator
