We are part of Astemo, Inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.\nTasks and Responsibilities:\nAs a Casting Maintenance Technician at Astemo Rock Spring, Inc., you will play a critical role in our Casting department, responsible for the maintenance and repairs of casting equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the casting process, contributing to the production of high-quality cast aluminum products. Your technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will be essential in maintaining and optimizing equipment performance.\nPerform preventative maintenance activities on casting equipment, following established schedules and checklists to ensure optimal machine performance.\nConduct inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues, implementing appropriate solutions to minimize production downtime.\nCollaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering team to identify and resolve equipment issues, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.\nRecord maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and equipment downtime, in maintenance logs for documentation and analysis.\nSupport equipment setup and changeovers, ensuring proper installation and functionality of casting molds.\nAdhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance activities, fostering a safe work environment.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support the smooth production flow and on-time delivery of cast parts.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing suggestions for process enhancement and equipment optimization.\nAttend training sessions and stay updated on new casting technologies and maintenance best practices.\nWhen accomplishing tasks, remember to work toward meeting overall company goals established which include, OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.\nSafety & Environmental:\nAdhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to foster a safe work environment for all team members.\nSupport environmental initiatives and comply with relevant environmental regulations and standards.\nQuality:\nCollaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure that casting processes meet established quality standards and specifications.\nMonitor equipment performance and notify the Maintenance Supervisor of any quality-related concerns or potential improvements.\nDelivery:\nWork efficiently and effectively to meet production schedules and minimize production downtime.\nCoordinate with cross-functional teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion.\nProductivity:\nIdentify opportunities for productivity improvements within the casting process and equipment maintenance, collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor to implement measures that increase efficiency and optimize resource utilization.\nReporting:\nProvide regular reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvements implemented.\nCollaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to gather and analyze data for reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and relevance.\nPreferred Skills:\nStrong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, enabling efficient equipment maintenance and repairs.\nExperience in conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues.\nKnowledge of casting equipment and processes, understanding the specific maintenance requirements.\nAttention to detail and ability to follow maintenance procedures precisely.\nEffective communication and collaboration skills to work as part of a team and coordinate with cross-functional teams.\nMinimum Experienced Preferred:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nPrior experience in equipment maintenance or a related field preferred, demonstrating familiarity with maintenance practices and troubleshooting techniques.\nBasic understanding of casting processes and equipment maintenance requirements.\nAbility to read equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings to support maintenance activities.\nKey Metrics Responsibility:\nMonitor key performance metrics related to casting equipment maintenance, including equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), and mean time to repair (MTTR).\nAnalyze and interpret data to identify areas for improvement and drive performance optimization.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods, performing physically demanding tasks, and occasionally lifting heavy objects.\nAt Astemo, we’re challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
