Each Category Program Manager supports one identified product category (such as Filters, Brakes, Undercar, Underhood, or Heating & Cooling), collaborating closely with field sales teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The Category Program Manager delivers product expertise, facilitates sales training, and supports program execution including promotions, new product introductions, and product launches. This role requires strong product knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to manage category initiatives effectively.\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nSuccessful delivery of category-specific promotions and new product introductions on schedule.\nCompletion rate and effectiveness of sales training sessions within the category.\nSupplier engagement and satisfaction within the assigned category.\nAchievement of category sales goals and growth targets as set by Senior Category Program Manager.\nPositive feedback from field sales teams on product knowledge and support.\nEfficient management of category initiatives and timely communication with SCPM.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and execute category-specific strategies in alignment with Senior Category Program Manager guidance.\nProvide in-depth product expertise and training to Business Development Managers, Inside Sales, Customer Order Specialists, and field sales teams within the assigned category.\nPartner with suppliers to coordinate training, sales initiatives, and enhance product knowledge.\nManage category promotional programs, new product rollouts, and product launches.\nTrack and report category performance metrics and contribute to ongoing category analysis.\nSupport field adoption of product programs by addressing product questions and providing technical knowledge as needed (within scope).\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams to ensure cohesive execution of category objectives.\nAssist the Senior Category Program Manager in managing multiple category projects and initiatives.\nTravel as required to support field activities and supplier engagements (typically less than Senior Category Program Manager travel requirements).\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 to 7 years of experience in category management, product management, sales operations, or related fields within automotive or industrial sectors.\nStrong product knowledge of the assigned category.\nEffective presentation and communication skills demonstrated through training and stakeholder engagement.\nAnalytical skills to monitor category performance and identify opportunities.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.\nPhysical Demands / Working Environment\nWillingness to travel as needed to support the field (estimated up to 50%).\nNot the right fit?
