Our team of Building and Safety professionals maintain current certifications and attend training on a regular basis, to stay current with industry technologies and standards.\r\nPublic Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan, currently has an opening for a remote, part time, Plan Check Engineer in the Orlando, Fl area.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nExamines plans and specifications for buildings and structures for completeness and conformity with all code requirements for the following design elements: Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, energy conservation regulations (Title 24), Green Building Standards, accessibility and Egress.\r\nCoordinates the review of plans with public agencies whose approval is necessary; itemizes required correction and modification and explains them to permit applicants.\r\nWhen requested, authorizes the issue of building permits for plans that meet building code and ordinance requirements; calculates fees.\r\nAdvises and assists engineers, architects, contractors, builders, and the general public with interpretation and application of pertinent building regulations, state laws, and local ordinances.\r\nSubmits reports to jurisdictional Building Officials regarding workload and process statistics, new products or situations, and code interpretation issues.\r\nProvides assistance to public jurisdictional building counters when requested, answering questions related to plans and permitting requirements.\r\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related).\r\nFlorida PE license is required.\r\n3 years of experience in architectural or building plan review or an equivalent combination of training and experience.\r\nCandidate will be required to have a PE license as a condition of hire.\r\nKnowledge of building codes.\r\nExcellent oral & written communication skills.\r\nEEO Non-Discrimination and ADA Reasonable Accommodation Statement\r\nWilldan is an equal opportunity employer.
