Successful candidates will have a M.S. degree or B.S. degree in electrical engineering with a focus in analog and digital circuit design and experience building, integrating, and debugging electronics assemblies. Successful applicants will support the design and development, troubleshooting, production, and sustainment of a wide variety of underwater maritime electrical and electromechanical systems. Candidates must have a solid foundation in understanding and working with analog circuits, digital logic, ADCs, microcontrollers, DC/DC converters, digital communications protocols (RS232/RS422, I2C, I2S, SPI, McBSP), preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and interfacing to embedded microprocessors.\nAPS works on exciting, technically challenging, cutting‑edge technologies that will expose candidates to a wide variety of multidisciplinary fields and allow for unique growth opportunities and learning experiences. You will have the chance to work directly with colleagues and customers that value innovation and creativity.\nJob Functions and Responsibilities Design, integration, troubleshooting, production, and sustainment of complex electrical and electro‑mechanical systems.\nDesign, procurement, and testing of custom analog/digital PCBs.\nTravel to support exercises.\nRequired Skills and Attributes S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in microelectronics.\nNo professional experience is required but past internships in engineering are highly desirable.\nProficiency with electronic laboratory test equipment including digital multimeter, oscilloscope, function generator, digital voltage and current measurement probes.\nExperience troubleshooting printed circuit boards and electronics assemblies including cables, sensors, grounding, and noise.\nAbility to grasp, organize, and communicate complex concepts, both electrical and organizational, and interface with a multi-disciplinary team.\nBasic proficiency interfacing with Linux based systems.\nBasic competence with Matlab data analysis.\nProven experience designing custom PCBs from conception to implementation.\nUnderstanding or experience with electronic layout, bill‑of‑materials, and assembly process.\nExperience designing with analog sensors, ADCs, and embedded processors.\nAffinity for working on a team.\nPreferred Skills and Attributes S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in microelectronics.\n1 to 3 years’ experience designing electronics.\nExperience with Altium for schematic capture.\nExperience with LTSPICE for circuit simulations.\nExperience with C/C++ coding for microcontrollers (or similar e.g. Python).\nExperience using National Instruments (or similar) data acquisition systems and LabView.\nExperience or familiarity with electronics assembly, wiring, crimping, soldering a plus.\nAPS, a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Dynamics Corporation, offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and comfortable working conditions.
