{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"99bdb3147af3c0f937fca785","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/99bdb3147af3c0f937fca785","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/99bdb3147af3c0f937fca785","title":"Driver","description":"Description:\n\nA Local Driver is responsible for the safe handling and physical movement of our equipment and cargo to and from our customer’s dock as well as various freight carriers within their designated city and/or state.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nLegally meet or exceed our customers’ service expectations\nMay be required to load and unload freight as instructed by Dispatch\nProperly use dock equipment without exceeding its design limitations, as required\nMeet all federal, local, and state laws regarding the legal movement of our equipment (including insurance, permits, licenses, and other regulations)\nEnsure timely and proper documentation and communication of pre/post trips, timecards, manifests, weight tickets, and other associated local paperwork\nManage shipment documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), Proof of Delivery (PODs), and security paperwork as applicable\nReview and report required equipment maintenance\nEnsure equipment is always secured\nTimely communication with internal personnel regarding shipments\nMaintain exemplary professionalism and tact when dealing with internal and external Customers either on the phone or in person\nWork with manager and co-workers, other stations, and customers to resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner\nContinually look to recommend better processes\nAssist in training new drivers\nAssist Dock in loading/unloading/locating freight when requested\nObserve and practice applicable TSA policies\nMay be required to be available for on-call support, weekends or extended hours depending on shipment volumes\nInspect cartons for visible damage, discrepancies, or incorrect/missing labels and immediately report any issues to the Supervisor and Project Manager (PM).\nVerify shipment quantities, carton counts, labels, and other freight details before loading and unloading.\nApply the appropriate color-coded labels for each store at the time of pickup\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements:\n\nQualifications & Skill Requirements\n\nHighschool diploma or equivalent education and experience\nMinimum 23 years of age\nValid driver's license in good standing\n1–3 years of previous delivery, transportation, logistics, or freight-handling experience preferred\nAbility to safely lift, move, and handle freight as required by the position\nAbility to read and understand Bills of Lading, shipping documents, delivery instructions, schedules, and route information\nAbility to use electronic devices, including tablets and smartphones, to complete required documentation and proof of delivery\nPhysically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle as required by Title 49, CFR, 391.41 and company policy\nDrivers must follow local, state, and federal laws governed by the FMCSA when transporting goods\nWorking knowledge of how to load and safely secure various cargo types\nStrong working knowledge of dock equipment and forklifts\nAbility to read and understand transportation documents/labels\n\nKey Competencies\n\nAttention to detail\nCompliance and safety mindset\nHighly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitude\nStrong work ethic with a persistence in pursuit of objectives\nUnderstanding and responsive to situations that require a sense of urgency\nConsistent in follow-up and follow-through\nCredible with a high level of personal integrity\nLoyal and dedicated to the success of colleagues and team members\nOptimistic toward all activities, able to transmit this optimism to others\nAdaptive to ICAT’s core values\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nThe noise level in the work environment is moderate to high\nAbility to lift and move 25 -80 lbs. in a warehouse environment\nMust be able to stand, kneel, bend, squat and stoop as needed\nFrequent phone and radio communication\n\nJoin Our Team\n\nIf you’re ready to take the next step in your career with a company that values your dedication and contributions, we encourage you to apply.\n\nLearn more about our available opportunities by visiting https://icatlogistics.com\n\nWe are not accepting inquiries from recruitment agencies or third-party vendors for this position.
