Manager and provides Bechtel employees crane and rigging training, testing, qualification as well as operational and technical direction to craft and non-manual professionals engaged in crane and rigging activities at Bechtel south yard and other remote locations across all GBUs as required. #LI-BH1\nMajor Responsibilities: Training: Conduct Bechtel crane and rigging training and qualification programs including proctoring written and practical exams for non-manual and craft professionals on Bechtel project sites.\nConduct project specific training (Bull Rigging, Crane Operations, Rigging, etc.) as requested by Rigging Training Manager/Project Trainer Manager.\nEvaluates craft training needs and makes recommendations to the rigging and training management team for consideration of additional program development or project support.\nAudit project training programs and compliance.\nProvides feedback to training supervisors/coordinators.\nAssists BEO training coordinator in the development of site-specific training needs.\nDevelops toolbox talks/safety flashes in areas that need additional focus.\nAdditional Responsibilities: Supervisory: Supervise and direct crane and rigging operations at BEO equipment yard and other project locations as required.\nEnsure that all crane and rigging operations comply with applicable Bechtel procedures, OSHA standards, and federal, state, county, and local regulations, customer, and project-specific requirements.\nEngages in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and signing FLHA cards for rigging activities.\nManage all site cranes per process and procedure requirements regarding safe usage, site relocation, assembly/disassembly of telescopic RT-AT and lattice boom crawler cranes, safe rig up and safe raising-lowering of long boom cranes, proper set up, proper usage and site ground bearing conditions regarding build out of earth and timber crane pads.\nManage site COE's (crane operator examiners) and crane operator qualification program including crane operator certifications, state licenses and medical certificates verifications.\nEnsures that assigned personnel are properly qualified for their task (e.g., signaling cranes); trained, competent and aware of their responsibilities, and are complying with all applicable standards, requirements, and safe practices.\nProvides support in the pre-planning of rigging activities to facilitate engineering, scheduling, the development of construction equipment requirements and estimates to incorporate rigging and load-handling related requirements in the work plan.\nMaintains continual contact with competent person riggers, equipment managers, and crane operators regarding the execution of lifting operations.\nSupports the daily planning and undertaking of rigging activities for safe and efficient execution.\nEducation and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience\nRequired Knowledge and Skills: Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.\nWorking knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.\nExcellent communication and problem-solving ability.\nAbility to read and interpret crane manufactures operator's manual and load charts.\nExperienced in safe use and inspection of rigging hardware.\nAbility to develop 3-week look ahead schedule regarding crane operations.\nMonitor and track utilization of all site cranes.\nProject experience necessary.\nRigging training and testing coordinator experience.\nGood analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, balance short and long-term priorities.\nGood understanding of construction industry.\nEffective people skills.\nPreferred:\nCertified rigger/signal person.
