Constellation Health Services is seeking an 11th Hour Hospice VolunteerConstellation Health Services' Hospice program is looking for volunteers to visit patients who have terminal illnesses. Make a difference in your community, be part of the hospice team, and have a flexible volunteer schedule. A few hours a week can make a big difference to someone nearing the end of life!11th Hour Volunteer Position Description:Caring presence for patients nearing death, including emotional support, spiritual support, and comfort measuresDemonstrate understanding of the dying process and ability to provide compassion and supportDesire to support patients and families at the time when a patient is actively dyingAt least 6 months of hospice experienceComfortable with the death and dying processBe a listenerSit with patients overnight to provide respite to caregiversPray with patients as requestedAdvocate for the patient as neededRun errands, and make phone calls for caregivers who do not wish to leave the patient's bedsideMinimum commitment of 1 yearMaintain an accurate record of hours Requirements:At least 18 years old.Able to commit for one year to our program.Able to commit to at least 4 hours per week.Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where they're at in energy and tone.Online training takes approximately 20 hours and is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.No close death in the last year Why Constellation?Family-Centered Culture: At Constellation, we treat our team members like family.
