This role includes setting up materials, verifying blades, cores, wind direction, and machine settings, checking product quality throughout the run, completing required paperwork, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. The Slitter Operator also supports production efficiency by preparing materials for upcoming jobs, identifying equipment concerns, and communicating effectively during shift hand-offs.\n1. Primary Duties\nProficiently navigate the Epicor system, accurately complete required paperwork, and stock the appropriate materials needed to perform daily job assignments.\nMaintain slitter machines and the immediate work area in clean, organized, and safe conditions.\nVerify that the correct blades, cores, and wind direction are selected and used for each production order.\nIdentify and report machine maintenance issues that could impact quality, safety, or production, and coordinate with Maintenance as needed.\nReview the production schedule and ensure the correct work orders are prepared and staged for the next scheduled run.\nBecome familiar with warehouse inventory and anticipate material requirements to minimize production delays.\nEnsure all completed production runs meet established quality standards and customer specifications.\nConduct a thorough shift hand-off with the incoming operator before leaving the work area.\n2. Additional Responsibilities\nDemonstrate a willingness to be cross-trained and operate multiple machines within the department.\nWork effectively as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.\n3. Quality Control Responsibilities\nReport on any safety concerns.\nPerform dyne testing as required, verify wind direction, and collect and properly store retain samples for quality records.\nVerify that all slitter machine settings are correct and approved before production begins. Every new order must be reviewed and signed off by a second qualified individual (Quality Control, Supervisor, or another trained operator) prior to startup.\n4. Education and Certifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent required.\nForklift certification or training preferred.\n5. Knowledge and Skills\nConsistently practice safe work habits and comply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and company safety procedures.\nWorking knowledge of 5S principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).\n6. Compensation and Benefits\n· Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.\n· Benefits package available, which may include health insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, retirement plan options, and other company-sponsored benefits.\n7.
