Electrical Technology Teacher
Position Vacancy: Electrical Technology Teacher (High School CTE)

Primary Purpose Develop and deliver an industry-leading high school Electrical Technology program that prepares students for postsecondary certificates and careers. Provide students with rigorous, safety-focused instruction and hands-on learning aligned to state standards and local workforce needs.
Minimum Qualifications
related training/industry experience
Hold or be eligible for licensure, e.g., State of Texas Master Electrician preferred (documentation of license number required).
Demonstrated competency in electrical systems, industrial electricians, automation, and applied electrical instruction.
High school diploma/GED plus significant industry experience as required for certification.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work as a Master Electrician or equivalent trade licensure.
Minimum 3 years residential and 3 years industrial electrical experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Planning & Delivery
Design, implement, and document lesson plans aligned to Texas standards and district curriculum that incorporate safety, hands-on labs, and industry certifications (e.g., Industrial Electrician).
Utilize a range of instructional strategies, technology, and equipment (trainers, PLCs, eLearning modules) to meet diverse student learning needs.
Prepare students for industry credentials, Smart Automation Certification Alliance pathways, and dual-credit opportunities.
Working knowledge of NEC, Safety, Ohm’s Law, Residential and Commercial Wiring, AC/DC Voltage
Assessment & Student Growth
Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments; use data to plan targeted instruction and intervention.
Provide timely, substantive feedback and maintain accurate records of student performance and certification outcomes.
Performance tasks, and competency checks that inform instruction and measure mastery.
Program Development & Industry Partnerships
Grow the Electrical Technology program through outreach, and strategic partnerships with local colleges (e.g., NTCC) and industry.
Support dual-credit relationships and pathways that enable students to earn college credit and industry certifications.
Maintain membership and utilize resources from Amatrol eLearning and SACA where applicable.
Classroom Management & Safety
Create and maintain a safe, organized lab/classroom environment; follow and model district safety and emergency procedures.
Enforce student code of conduct and oversee safe use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Communication & Professional Growth
Maintain professional relationships and open communication with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
Physical & Mental Demands
Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and occasional lifting; regular exposure to noise and lab environment.
Use of personal computer, specialized lab tools, and instructional equipment.
Other Requirements
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to career and technical education and the occupational area assigned.
