We are currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our team.\n\nAbout Micro Precision:\n\nMicro Precision is a precision manufacturing machine shop supporting national defense and homeland security customers for over 40 years. The theme of our mission, vision, and values is dedicated to protecting America, offering the highest quality with unrelenting deduction to our customers, and with zero fail accuracy. Through our tenure we have built strong foundational relationships with vendors and suppliers.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nUS Citizenship is required per DoD requirements.\nB.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.\nA.S. degree and work experience considered in leu of B.S.\nMinimum 5 years’ experience with SolidWorks software.\nExperience reviewing technical documents and customer prints\nExperience with technical and information flow-down\nExperience with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, high temperature alloys, Inconel, titanium, nickel, etc.\nExperience in machining, assembly and test a plus.\nLean Manufacturing certification and experience desirable\nExperience with ISO9001, and/or other Quality Management Systems.\nExperience with ERP systems.\nAbility to work across the organization to identify and resolve issues.\nPositive attitude with continuous improvement mentality.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nReview and interpret customer purchase orders and contracts for technical requirements\nIn-depth research of technical requirements and their application to contracts\nCondense large amounts of technical information from various sources into easy to interpret instructions and drawing.\nBecome a SME for hydraulic systems.\nMaintain technical flow-down in routings\nCreate parts and assembly models and drawings.\nMaintain ECR, and ECN systems\nHelp create setup sheets and work instructions for machining, assembly and test.\nCreate repeatability in manufacturing processes.\nWork to Engineering department standards.\nRead and understand GD&T requirements on engineering drawings\nEngage in optimization and continuous improvement efforts on new and current processes\nPrepare comprehensive and accurate reports.\nWork with Estimating and Production to reduce cost and lead time.\nSupport Production and Quality in meeting manufacturing timelines.\nParticipate in MRB part disposition.\nParticipate in strategic planning for company capability and capacity growth.\nPhysical effort, lifting or pushing up to 50lbs is required.\nOther duties as responsibilities necessitate.\n\nPhysical & Mental:\n\nGeneral: Position requires ability to concentrate on details with occasional interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time. Ability to understand theories behind related concepts and to remember multiple tasks given to self and others over periods of time; ability to prioritize given shifting priorities; ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.\n\nEnvironmental & Working Conditions:\n\nIndustrial shop setting.
