Will be required to work in an industrial facility on construction jobsite setting.ResponsibilitiesProactive in all areas of safety and recognize potential safety issues/hazardsLeads a skilled labor work crew engaged in specific construction activitiesOptimizes manpower to ensure efficient and timely completion of workEnsure work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materialsDemonstrate good organizational skills and follow/enforce policies, procedures, and work practicesGive instructions to the workforce in an efficient and effective wayUnderstand the purpose and proper technique for placing and securing bars or in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structuresEnsure work is being completed according to project specifications and safety standardsInspect completed work to ensure proper installationExperience And QualificationsMust have a valid TWIC card or receipt confirming applicationMinimum of 2 years’ experience in a foreman role and 5+ years’ heavy industrial civil construction experienceMust be experienced in heavy industrial civil construction processes to efficiently and effectively perform all job responsibilitiesPhysicalMust be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs., but may occasionally push/pull, lift, or carry up to 100 lbs.Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legsHand/eye coordinationMust be able to communicate (hear, comprehend, and speak) to safely perform workWill need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy workMay operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all typesClimb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffoldsRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basisPosition may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and liftingMust be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.May be required to work in confined spacesWill be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/supervisionReading and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policyAbility to use math/complete calculationsWork at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractionsDecision making skills necessaryDetail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe detailsWork EnvironmentThe job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites in petrochemical operational units and include possible hazardous environments such as confined spaces and working at heights. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the particular project.
