Join us.\nJob Description AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Buildings + Places group. This position involves leading the structural design and analysis of complex building and infrastructure projects, exercising sound engineering judgment, and mentoring junior staff. The position offers the opportunity to work independently, interpret building codes, and contribute meaningfully to project delivery and team development.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the structural design and analysis of building systems and primary structural elements with minimal supervision.\nApply engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards to make independent technical decisions.\nDevelop solutions to non-routine engineering challenges using established methods, modified approaches, or prior project experience.\nPerform and review structural calculations, analyses, and associated design documentation.\nIdentify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in analysis results or design assumptions.\nManage assigned tasks to meet agreed-upon project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.\nProvide technical guidance, oversight, and mentorship to entry-level and junior engineers.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and other engineering disciplines.\nQualifications Required Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience completing structural design tasks with limited supervision, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster of Science degree with a concentration in Structural Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\nLEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.\nDemonstrated experience completing structural design tasks with limited supervision.\nProficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, and RISA.\nAdvanced working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.\nExperience with finite element analysis and Building Information Modeling (BIM).\nDesign experience with multiple building materials, including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.\nStrong knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards, and seismic design principles.\nDemonstrated leadership ability, including mentoring and task coordination.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nFamiliarity with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.\nAdditional Information Sponsorship is not provided for this position now or in the future.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
