The organization supports continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices, facilitating remote work and fostering collaboration across technical teams.About the OpportunityThe Lead Data Engineer will serve as the technical authority for the data platform, shaping its architecture and guiding engineering teams. This role drives the development and implementation of data solutions, integrates AI tools to enhance workflows, and mentors engineers and analysts. The position is critical in ensuring efficient, cost-effective data handling and advancing the organization's data capabilities in a remote work environment.ResponsibilitiesDefine the technical direction, architecture, standards, and roadmap for the data platform.Architect end-to-end data platform solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Airflow, and other tools.Set standards for data modeling and data delivery across tools and dashboards.Mentor data engineers and analysts in technical challenges and skill growth.Promote best engineering practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), modular testing, and CI/CD pipelines.Optimize platform costs and performance by improving query speed and data handling.Use AI tools to support research, code reviews, and engineering processes.Develop documentation and train teams on methodologies for sustained success.RequirementsProven leadership experience in data engineering with strong technical authority.Expertise in GCP data stack components including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.Advanced proficiency in BI tools and SQL for data modeling and dashboard creation.Expert knowledge of Python, TDD, and modular testing techniques.Skilled in Git and designing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing.Experience applying AI and large language model (LLM) tools in engineering workflows.Strong project management skills and familiarity with Agile methodologies.Effective communication skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.Compensation & BenefitsCompensationAnnual Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000.Regular compensation reviews based on performance.Benefits & PerksFlexible Work: Flexible working hours in a fully remote-first environment.Professional Growth: Continuous opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement.Team & Culture: Collaborative, innovative, and highly inclusive work culture.Equal Opportunity StatementOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
