We are looking for a talented WordPress Back-End Developer to join our growing team and help us build a scalable, secure, and high-performing educational platform.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance the back-end of WordPress websites, focusing on custom functionality and integrations.\r\nWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented PHP code to extend WordPress capabilities.\r\nImplement and customize plugins, as well as develop custom plugins when necessary.\r\nOptimize website performance, including database management, caching, and server-side optimizations.\r\nEnsure website security by implementing best practices and staying updated on potential vulnerabilities.\r\nCollaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.\r\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including debugging and optimizing code.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nProven experience as a WordPress Back-End Developer with a portfolio of custom-coded projects.\r\nStrong understanding of WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, and the WordPress REST API.\r\nExperience with MySQL and complex database queries, optimizations, and management.\r\nFamiliarity with WordPress coding standards and best practices for security and performance.\r\nExperience with APIs and third-party integrations, including custom API development.\r\nKnowledge of version control systems, preferably Git, in a collaborative development environment.\r\nDesired Skills\r\nExperience with server management, deployment, and hosting providers.\r\nUnderstanding of SEO best practices and their impact on back-end development.\r\nFamiliarity with automated testing and continuous integration workflows.\r\nExperience with WordPress multisite installations and large-scale projects.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\r\nExperience with WooCommerce and custom payment gateway integrations.\r\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.\r\nPassion for staying up-to-date with the latest web development technologies and best practices.\r\nAt Alter-Learning, your work directly contributes to shaping the future of education.
