If you're motivated by smiles and hugs from children and praise from parents, then we encourage you to click Apply now!ResponsibilitiesFollows all academy transportation guidelinesDrives approved vehicle to and from the academy and specified pick-up sites according to assigned route and scheduleHelps children as necessary in entering and exiting vehicleTakes attendance of children at each pick-up location and ensures all children are accounted forMaintains a copy of the enrollment record for each school-age child, which includes complete and updated emergency card information and child's photoEnsures that all children are secured in an individual seat belt before engine is started, if availableRegulates heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfortComplies with local traffic regulations and reports delays or accidentsCompletes Daily Vehicle Checklist, notifies Director when maintenance is needed, and takes vehicle for quarterly maintenanceInspects vehicle and checks gasoline, oil, and water before departureCleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories and checks tire pressure and adjusts mirrorsMaintains a record of field trips and number of childrenPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsMust have a valid driver's license and knowledge of all Department of Transportation Guidelines for transporting childrenMust meet all state and local requirements for position, including Motor Vehicle Administration Check, physical, and Criminal Background CheckBasic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenanceMust be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist highPleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personalityHighly professional and dependable
