Cytotechnologist:Acupath laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and Joint Commission and CAP-accredited Anatomic Pathology facility that includes Molecular Genetics, FISH and Flow Cytometry testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.We are looking for a Cytotechnologist to perform Rapid Onsite Evaluations of non-gynecologic slides obtained during FNA procedures (off-site screening).Pay Range: $50 per CaseNote: May perform multiple cases per session at clinical offices.Responsibilities:Attends fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures off-site and evaluates specimen cellularity.Perform immediate staining (e.g., Diff-Quik) of aspirated material smears to assess cellularity and determine if the sample is adequate or inadequate.Guide real-time procedural adjustments (additional passes).Triage samples for ancillary studies (flow cytometry, molecular testing, etc.).Complete requisitions with clinical and sample information as necessary.Prep sample for transport back to the laboratory.Uses Infection Control practices and procedures including, but not limited to, wearing gloves, goggles, protective masks and other safety equipment.Perform other tasks as required.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent required.Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Cytotechnologist.Minimum of 2 – 5 years of work experience preferred.ASCP certification preferred.About Us:Acupath Laboratories is a nationwide provider of specialized anatomic pathology services, focusing on areas like urology, gastroenterology, and hematology/oncology.
