With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers' missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron & Neutron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success.\nDRIVER\nBased onsite at Rocket Lab's Middle River facility, the Driver will join our shipping and receiving department in Middle River, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for activities related to the movement of materials or finished goods throughout the greater Maryland and Virginia area, including our sites in Middle River, MD and Wallops Island, VA.\nWHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:\nEnsure the security and accountability of materials and goods to and from local business partners (within 180 mile radius) performing work for Rocket Lab\nEnsure materials are available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per sales/marketing schedules\nEstablish and modify operational methods and procedures as necessary/\nPerform the physical or administrative tasks involved in the distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment to local business partners as well as all Rocket Lab sites\nLift heavy items and operate a forklift (once certified)\nSafely deliver and pick up material to and from local business partners and deliver to end users\nHandle hazardous material in accordance with company procedures\nEnsure traceability of all material and goods being transported through the use of ERP system and handheld devices\nDriving material and goods between business partners and Rocket Lab owned warehouses locally\nTracking material and goods within Rocket Lab tracking system as they travel\nCommunicating status of deliveries of material and goods as they travel\nAssist with urgent requests relating directly to our ability to meet production schedules and/or ship product as per sales/marketing schedules\nAdhere to all local and state driving laws, company safety policies, and ensure safe handling of all materials\nInteract professionally with suppliers and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders\nAddress and resolve any issues that arise during pickups or deliveries promptly and effectively\nYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent\nValid driver's license with no history of suspensions\nTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:\n1+ years' experience driving company owned vehicles\nCurrent Forklift Certification\nMaterial handling experience preferred\nExperience with heavy equipment (sit down and stand up forklifts) preferred\nModerate to extensive experience driving large vehicles, such as Sprinter van, 22 foot Box truck, Stake bed\nRelated experience in shipping and receiving preferred\nBasic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite\nAbility to work on multiple tasks\nAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization\nAbility to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance\nAbility to deal with variable situations and make good decisions based on business needs\nFamiliarity with freight carriers such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, and common truck carriers\nExperience in a customer service environment\nThis position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT\nWe're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task.
