And so much more.\n\nCome break through with us.\n\nThe Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.\n\nPurpose of Position\nProvide engineering support for all plant production and facility equipment to support daily operations while leading projects that improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance quality, or increase throughput.\n\nDay To Day Responsibilities\n\nCollaborate daily with cross-functional teams including union trades, operators, safety personnel, and various engineering disciplines to support production needs through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and optimization driving root cause analysis and repair of equipment.\n\nManage and support critical engineering and development projects through design, installation, testing, and optimization phases.\n\nProject Management through all phases including project initiation, scope development, funding, and execution of small to medium scaled projects ($20k - $2M) to enable production improvements required by the business.\n\nDraft and review technical documentation, equipment layouts, SOPs, and mechanical schematics.\n\nCollaborate with division and company resources in technology and engineering to enhance project effectiveness.\n\nPartner with teams on new product and process launches, raw material changes, and equipment design modifications.\n\nRequired Education And Experience\n\nBachelor of Science degree in mechanical, mechatronics, industrial, robotics, or related field.\n\nMinimum 3 years of engineering experience\n\nExcellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply hands‑on experience across a wide range of applications.\n\nExperience supporting or leading technical projects.\n\nSkilled in reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and drawing actionable conclusions from data.\n\nResults-driven with a high level of commitment to achieving goals.\nAbility to work extended hours as required.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nIn order to comply with Corning’s government contract requirements at this location, if you receive an offer of employment for this position, you will need to provide documentation of your U.S. citizen status.\n\nDesired Education And Experience\n\nProficient in AutoCad, Solidworks, or similar CAD software\n\nExperience with MS Office, Project & SharePoint\n\nStructured development and problem-solving skills (e.g. Innovation, KT, DMAIC).\n\nHours\nTypically, 7 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday.\n\nTravel\nSome travel should be expected, depending on project assignments.
