To learn more about our culture, please visit our careers page on our website.\n\nAbout the role\n\nThe Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible and accountable for compounding incoming non-sterile prescriptions in the lab, reporting to the Quality Assurance Pharmacist and Lab Technician Manager.\n\nWhat you'll do\n\nLead compounding all prescription medications according to company and governing regulatory policies and procedures, which may change from time-to-time\nDemonstrate proficiency with following directions\nDemonstrate ability to perform non-sterile compounding per strict USP 795/ 800 standards\nProactively anticipate, identify and propose solutions to any problems with any medication fills and have all work checked by pharmacist; Technician shall not make any decisions regarding medications that may affect patient care\nDemonstrate a team mentality\nEffective interpersonal & excellent communication skills\nSelf-driven, self-confident and flexible\nAdapt to changing priorities throughout the day and week\nDevelop and execute a daily and weekly plan\nResult-driven attitude with a desire for success\nDemonstrate excellent verbal/written skills\nAbility to organize and prioritize to meet established deadlines\nCross-train and cover all pharmacy technician areas assigned\nComplete all documentation and computer input as necessary\nAssist in inventory control functions\nAssist in maintenance of the pharmacy to reflect a clean and well stocked condition on a daily basis\nHelp improve processes to meet customer needs; respect confidentiality of information with only those that need to know\nMaintain HIPAA compliance at all times\nContribute to the productivity of the team; resolve conflict in a positive manner\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nQualifications\n\nAt least 3 years pharmacy experience (compounding experience preferred)\nLicensed Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy\nMinimum of High School Diploma/GED\nExperience with pharmacy software\nPass drug screen test, background check, pre-employment verification process\nRead, understand and be compliant with HIPAA\nAble to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, in the English language\nGood attention to detail\nAbility to problem solve effectively\nAbility to follow policies and procedures, basic math skills\nMotivated self-starter with great attitude, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit\nAble to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a fast paced and changing environment\nWorking Conditions: standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below knee, climbing, lifting above shoulder up to 20 lbs and lifting waist level up to 20 lbs.\n\nWhy work at Valor\n\nYou want a career in pharmacy or compounding\nYou love learning new skills and are open to feedback to improve your work product\nYou believe in and can demonstrate our core values\nYou are comfortable with fast-paced, dynamic, and growing pharmacy business in the heart of Berkeley, CA\nCompetitive pay\nHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)\nRetirement Plan (401k)\nLife Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)\nPaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)\nShort Term & Long Term Disability\nTraining & Development\nWellness Resources\n\nValor’s pay band range for this position is $28 to $32 per hour.
