In this fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen, you will prepare fresh, high-quality breakfast items and grab-and-go offerings that support a nourishing and efficient food service operation.This role blends breakfast line cooking with essential prep and grab-and-go production, ensuring our kitchen is ready to deliver wholesome, scratch-made food every morning. You’ll follow recipes, dietary guidelines, and strict food safety standards while contributing to a clean, organized, and dependable environment.What You'll DoPrepare and cook a variety of breakfast items such as eggs, breakfast meats, hot cereals, and daily specials with consistency and qualitySupport early morning meal service, ensuring all items are ready, fresh, and presented on timePrepare grab-and-go items such as breakfast sandwiches, parfaits, fruit cups, and packaged meals for staff and visitorsFollow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and production sheets to meet hospital nutrition standardsComplete daily prep and pull schedules to support breakfast service, café needs, and grab-and-go productionMaintain proper food safety standards at all times—ensuring hot food stays hot and cold food stays coldKeep kitchen, prep areas, and equipment clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation guidelinesAssist with inventory organization, labeling, dating, and product rotation to maintain freshness and accuracyWork collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth, efficient morning operationsOther duties as assigned What You Will BringHigh School Diploma/GED Previous cook or prep cook experience (healthcare or high-volume setting preferred)Strong understanding of breakfast cookery and basic food preparation techniquesAbility to work early morning shifts and maintain a consistent, reliable scheduleServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screenPhysical And Sensory RequirementsThis job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.
