From launch-vehicle propulsion to mission-critical space electronics and power systems, our technologies support the missions that expand discovery, strengthen national security, and explore the solar system.\n\nAs a Space Systems Engineer (Sr. Associate) in the Space Electronics Technical Lead Engineering (TLE) group, you will help solve some of our customers’ toughest technical challenges across launch-vehicle and space-based programs. You will work alongside an exceptionally capable, collaborative team whose work helps guide vehicles from launch through flight and enables communications and exploration far beyond Earth.\n\nThis is a chance to take meaningful ownership early: translating ambitious mission needs into real, flight-ready systems; working across hardware, software, integration, and test; and seeing your engineering contribute directly to mission success. At Rocketdyne, you will learn from experienced technical leaders while helping build the next generation of space capability.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nUnderstand program objectives, mission concepts of operation, and product architectures to define and develop electronic system and subsystem requirements, methods, and solutions.\nPartner with a multidisciplinary team to design spaceflight systems and subsystems that meet demanding customer and mission requirements.\nPerform hardware/software integration and development testing to prove out designs and prepare them for mission-critical use.\nPlan, coordinate, and execute requirements verification and validation activities; collaborate with the test team to ensure customer requirements are fully met and verified.\nParticipate in engineering review boards, bringing forward thoughtful technical insight to improve quality and identify design issues early in the development lifecycle.\nCommunicate clearly and confidently through technical reviews, program status reviews, and written engineering documentation.\nApply strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to complex, high-consequence engineering challenges.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience (graduate degree can be substituted for work experience)\nExcellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with internal and/or external stakeholder\nUS Citizenship required\nActive Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance is required\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\n\nExperience working with electrical/avionics systems for military and defense applications\nProficiency in electronic system design, development, and troubleshooting\nExperience architecting and managing system level requirements in DOORs or similar requirements management software\nPrior experience using National Instruments hardware platforms and electronic test equipment\nHands-on experience with electronics integration, troubleshooting, and test methodologies\nKnowledge of military and/or NASA component specifications, design processes, and hardware test/verification procedures\n\nAt Rocketdyne, the work is challenging because the missions matter.
