This role supports front-end, back-end, database, and security teams, ensuring all deliverables meet federal compliance (FedRAMP / RMF), audit readiness, and operational excellence standards.\nThe ideal candidate brings expertise in technical documentation, structured authoring, compliance artifacts (SSP, POA&M), and engineering documentation frameworks, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable content for diverse stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain compliance artifacts: System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action & Milestones\nEnsure alignment with NIST SP 800-53 / RMF (800-37), FedRAMP Moderate/High baselines, and ICD 503\nSupport ATO lifecycle documentation and audit readiness\nProduce high-quality developer-facing materials: API references, Integration guides, and SDK documentation\nCollaborate with Back-End Developers to ensure accurate and up-to-date API contracts\nDocument Data dictionaries and metadata, Database schemas and relationships, and Data governance policies\nWork with Database Engineers to ensure data lineage, classification, and handling requirements are clearly documented\nDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, change Enablement documentation and incident response runbooks\nAlign documentation with ITIL processes\nEstablish and enforce documentation standards and templates, version control and document lifecycle management and implement structured authoring and reuse strategies\nServe as the central documentation liaison across Engineering teams, Security and compliance teams and Product and program leadership\nParticipate in Agile/SAFe ceremonies to capture evolving requirements\nUtilize documentation tools and platforms: Confluence, SharePoint, Git-based documentation (Markdown) and API tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)\nSupport automation of documentation workflows within CI/CD pipelines\nPrepare and manage documentation for FedRAMP audits and 3PAO assessments and Internal compliance reviews\nEnsure documentations are complete, accurate, and traceable and aligned with system configurations and controls\nMentor junior writers or contributors, promote a culture of documentation as a critical engineering discipline\nContinuously improve documentation quality and usability\nQualifications\nActive TS/SCI with Polygraph\nBachelor's degree or higher in Technical Writing, English, IT or related field and 8+ years of technical writing experience in IT or cybersecurity environments\nOR Masters and 6+ years of relevant experience OR PhD and 3+ years relevant experience\nProven ability to document Complex systems and architectures and APIs and data models\nStrong understanding of Software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies\nTools & Technologies: Confluence, SharePoint, Markdown, DITA, Swagger / OpenAPI, Git, Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, Azure DevOps\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with FedRAMP, NIST RMF, ICD 503\nFamiliarity with DevSecOps environments\nExperience documenting cloud-native architectures\nKnowledge of structured authoring frameworks (DITA)\nExperience with diagramming tools (Visio, Lucidchart)\nCore One is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
