This position will initially focus heavily on on-premises Linux administration, including system patching, user and group management, system provisioning, and general troubleshooting. The selected candidate may also provide application and end-user support as needed.\nThis is a growth-oriented position intended to develop broader Linux administration skills over time, including increased ownership of Linux infrastructure and eventual support of Linux workloads in Azure Government/GCC High environments. This position is on-site in North Logan, UT and may support both connected and air-gapped environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPerforms routine patching, updates, and maintenance of Linux systems\n Provisions and configures new Linux servers and virtual machines\nManages Linux user accounts, groups, permissions, and access\nMonitors system health and troubleshoots operating system, service, storage, and performance issues\n Supports RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu systems\nAssists with Linux application installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support\nPerforms routine system administration tasks including service management, log review, filesystem management, and configuration changes\nAssists with vulnerability remediation and system hardening activities\nMaintains accurate system configurations and technical documentation\nProvides support for virtualized Linux systems\nWorks with senior administrators and engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement infrastructure changes\nParticipates in scheduled after-hours maintenance windows and responds to occasional after-hours system issues or call-ins\nDevelops skills supporting Linux workloads in Azure Government/GCC High environments\nRequired Qualifications\nMust have 1+ years of professional Linux administration, IT infrastructure, technical support, or closely related experience and a bachelor’s degree or an additional 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree\nWorking knowledge of Linux system administration fundamentals\nExperience or demonstrated ability with Linux patching, software/package management, and system maintenance\nExperience managing Linux users, groups, permissions, and access\nFamiliarity with provisioning and configuring Linux systems\nAbility to troubleshoot Linux operating system and application issues\nAbility to work in both connected and air-gapped environments\nMust be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance\nValid CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent) is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire\nMust be able to support scheduled after-hours maintenance and occasional call-ins\nMust be able to travel as needed (not a normal expectation)\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in a relevant field\nExperience with RHEL, Rocky Linux, and/or Ubuntu\nLinux+, RHCSA, or other relevant Linux certification\nExperience with Bash, Python, Ansible, or other scripting and automation tools\nFamiliarity with Azure and Linux workloads hosted in Azure Government/GCC High\nFamiliarity with VMware or other virtualization platforms\nUnderstanding of basic networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, routing, ports, and firewall rules\nExperience with Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, or DoW security requirements\nFamiliarity with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or other container technologies\nExperience supporting applications or end users in a Linux environment\nBackground supporting CMMC, NIST 800-53, or similar compliance frameworks\n*Salary Range\n$68,000 - $97,000\nSalary commensurate on education and relevant experience\n\nThis range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
