{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"97a1d31fc212ed5a3784345d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/97a1d31fc212ed5a3784345d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/97a1d31fc212ed5a3784345d","title":"Assistant Controller","description":"Experience: Director\nSalary: $60 - $65 per hour\n\nJob Details\n-\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport the Controller in the preparation and analysis of month-end financial reports.\nAssist in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective internal controls.\nResearch technical accounting and tax matters to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.\nPerform regular reconciliations and detailed reviews of general ledger accounts.\nMonitor activity and aging across assigned balance sheet accounts.\nManage invoicing for organization-wide expenses and track related account activity.\nCollaborate with the accounting team to reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis.\nContribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.\nPartner with leadership to compile supporting documentation for annual external audits.\nConduct periodic cash counts and address discrepancies as needed.\nReview weekly bank deposits prepared by accounting staff for accuracy and completeness.\nEnsure proper recording of billing activity, receivables, and collections within the accounting system.\nOversee recurring expense payments, including insurance and employee benefits.\nExecute special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by finance leadership.\nSupport training and development initiatives within the accounting team.\nCollaborate on departmental goals, performance metrics, and process improvements.\nProvide coverage for key accounting functions during team member absences.\nMaintain capital asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking.\nOversee compliance with property, sales, and other applicable tax filings.\nManage unclaimed property reporting requirements.\nPrepare consolidated internal financial reports on a periodic basis.\nSupervise and mentor accounting staff, including direct oversight of the Accounting Manager.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline required.\n5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or operational support; exposure to nonprofit environments is a plus.\nActive CPA credential or equivalent public accounting experience (typically 2–4 years) strongly preferred.\nProficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems required.
