We welcome experienced accounting professionals who have served in Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller roles and are ready to take ownership of the financial operations of a growing design practice.\nGeneral Description\nThe Controller is responsible for supporting the firm's overall financial health and operational success. This highly visible role encompasses financial management, accounting, project cost management, human resources administration, and strategic business support.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Principals, Project Managers, consultants, and staff. Experience in architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), professional services, or project-based organizations is highly desirable.\nMinimum Qualifications\n● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\n● CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials preferred but not required.\n● 4+ years of accounting and financial management experience, including experience in a\nSenior Accountant, Lead Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller,\nController, or similar leadership role.\n● Demonstrated experience overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, payroll,\naccounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.\n● Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), budgeting,\nfinancial analysis, project accounting, and federal and multi-state tax compliance.\n● Experience supporting leadership teams with financial planning, reporting, and\noperational decision-making.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nThe ideal candidate has experience maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data,\nreporting, and business operations.\nSoftware & Technical Skills\n● Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint is strongly preferred.\n● Candidates with significant experience using comparable accounting or ERP systems are\nencouraged to apply but must be willing and able to learn Deltek Vantagepoint\nimmediately upon hire.\n● Experience with one or more of the following platforms is considered highly\ntransferable:\n○ Deltek Vision and/or Ajera\n○ Sage Intacct\n○ BQE CORE\n○ Unanet AE ERP\n○ Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central\n● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP,\nfinancial modeling, reporting, data analysis, and spreadsheet management.\n● Strong proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF workflows, including document\nassembly, editing, bookmarking, form creation, redaction, electronic signatures, and\ndocument management.\n● Experience with QuickBooks and other business software platforms is beneficial.\nProfessional Skills\n● Outstanding trustworthiness, integrity, discretion, and professional judgment.\n● Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced professional services\nenvironment.\n● Strong verbal and written communication skills.\n● Excellent organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.\n● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\n● Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\n● Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to accounting,\npayroll, benefits administration, and business operations.\n● Ability to train and support project managers and staff on project accounting and\nreporting systems.\nCompensation & Benefits\nThis is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.\nBenefits include:\n● Paid time off\n● Medical and dental insurance\n● 401(k) profit-sharing plan\n● Professional development opportunities\n● Additional firm-sponsored benefits and incentives\nCompensation Range: $120,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience,\nqualifications, and knowledge of the AEC industry.\nHow to Apply\nPlease include a cover letter, resume, and professional references in PDF format.\nApply here: https://bcvcareers.typeform.com/to/C6deC6Il\nBCV Architecture + Interiors is an equal opportunity employer.
