This program will provide students with knowledge and experience of working in an IT Call Center or Computer Lab, developing both technical and customer service skills and allowing them to demonstrate these experiences to future employers.\r\nEligibility Requirements\r\na. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment.\r\nb. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters.\r\nc. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee.\r\nd. Students enrolled in nontraditional programs of study will be considered eligible with approval of the Senior Student Services officer.\r\ne. Provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nApplicants must have experience using software such as Windows 10/11, MS Office 2019 and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), as well as web browsers, Telnet/SSH, email, and FTP. Familiarity with computer and A/V hardware and cabling is desired. Experience troubleshooting technical problems, analyzing situations, and solving problems is required. Excellent communication, public relations, and customer service skills with strong command of English (written and verbal) are essential. Ability to interpret customer requests and provide solutions, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team are required. Applicants must also be able to lift, maneuver, and transport departmental equipment, restock printers, and transport paper and supplies to another site.\r\nPosition Details\r\nPart-time position up to 20 hours per week while school is in session; additional hours may be available during summer and winter breaks.
