Groundskeeper
Groundskeeper Maintain the grounds of district facilities and associated groundskeeping equipment. Education and/or experience high school diploma or general education development (GED). Eighteen months of grounds maintenance or landscaping experience, and completion of trade-school-level courses in horticulture, landscaping, or related fields; or completion of the approved apprenticeship program. Six months of experience may be substituted for the trade-school-level courses. Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education. Must possess a valid AZ driver's license.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Trim trees and shrubs. Plant and maintain plants, shrubs, trees, flowers, and grass. Mow, prune, and trim plant growth as needed. Remove weeds and debris from walks, and fence lines. Repair sprinkler heads and irrigation water pipe system. Operate various power equipment. Rake vegetation. Maintain plants and landscaping. Install and maintain irrigation systems. Mark fields and parking lots with striping using paint stripers. Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on grounds keeping equipment. Pick up and remove trash and litter from the grounds. Build simple outdoor structures. Assist with or perform basic maintenance of physical facilities.Language skills ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical skills ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Mental tasks communicate. Read. Comprehend. Physical tasks work involves the performance of duties where physical exertion is required as a normal part of assigned duties. Assistance is available to perform unusually physically demanding tasks. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds while performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to walk, climb, stoop, bend, reach and sit; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Employees may have minor restrictions of motion; however, the restrictions must not prohibit the performance of assigned duties. Vision and hearing should be rated as acceptable to obtain the required driver's license. Verbal communicative ability may be required for public contact in the position. Equipment, aids, tools, materials requires use of hand tools. Operate an automatic or standard transmission motor vehicle. Working conditions outdoors. All weather conditions and temperatures. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. Must not have accrued eight points against Driver's License within the past two years.
