Anodizing Technician
Allied Reliability is seeking an Anodizing Technician responsible for performing and monitoring the anodizing process to enhance metal surfaces' durability, corrosion resistance and appearance. Manufacturing experience is necessary and any experience with aluminum metal plating is a bonus. Must have good math aptitude.Under general supervision, the Anodizing Technician prepares material to be anodized and once completed takes down the material to prepare for production or shipment. The Anodizing Technician will also be required to do any and all tasks deemed necessary by his/her supervisor for the safe and efficient operation of the company, including but not limited to operating a variety of tools; equipment and machinery. Shift work is required and subject to change based on business needs.Key ResponsibilitiesSelects holding rack according to size, shape, and number of extrusions to be anodized Prepares extrusions to be anodized by bolting or clipping to anodizing rack Takes down anodized extrusions from anodizing racks and stacks for production and/or shipment Compare products to color range samples First line quality inspection and control Check material for conformance mill finish and anodized finish May develop tools, shop aids and procedures to complete simple projects Complete all production/anodizing related paperwork, including but not limited to, requisitioning of material accurately and efficientlyMaterial movement and stock up orders as required Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner; change over, preventive maintenance, start up and shut down procedures May assist in the development of work instructions and practices Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment under general supervision As required, provide training to new and/or junior employees with a focus on performing work in a safe, efficient, quality minded manner Adhere to all Vegas Metal Finishing policies, procedures, notices and instructions Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives Location, shifts, duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time in order to support efficient company operations Competencies and QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Experience in a similar industry preferred. Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures Ability to weigh and measure items Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner A Good command of the English language (read, write, speak) with respect to understanding and following all verbal and written instructions Effective verbal and listening communications skills Time management skill Good attention to detail and a critical eye for identifying defects and subtle color differences.
