Technical Revenue Manager (Santa Clara)
OverviewA top-tier technology company ($100B+ market cap) in the cybersecurity space is seeking a Technical Revenue Manager to join its growing accounting team. This is a high-impact role offering strong compensation and equity, along with high visibility across Sales, Legal, and FP&A.This position will focus on technical ASC 606 accounting, contract review, and revenue close, with ownership over complex revenue projects and the opportunity to influence deal structuring and business outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Sales Operations to review non-standard contracts and assess revenue recognition impact under ASC 606Provide guidance on deal structuring to optimize revenue outcomes while ensuring complianceOwn and support month-end and quarter-end close, including reviewing non-routine transactions, preparing journal entries, and documenting conclusionsResearch and resolve complex revenue accounting issues and non-standard transactionsPrepare and maintain technical accounting memos and position papersMonitor revenue-related inquiries and provide timely guidance to business partnersIdentify opportunities to improve revenue processes, controls, and efficienciesEnsure compliance with SOX 404 controls related to revenueSupport external audits and related documentation requestsLead and participate in cross-functional projects and system/process improvementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience, including technical revenue accounting (ASC 606)Prior public accounting (Big 4 or similar) experience expectedCPA or CPA track strongly preferredExperience preparing technical accounting memos and documentationStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skills with cross-functional stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience with SAP, Salesforce (SFDC), or similar ERP/CRM systemsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google SheetsExperience in technology or SaaS environmentsFamiliarity with automation tools or AI-driven workflows is a plusAdditional InformationThis is an excellent opportunity to join a high-growth, market-leading technology company and take ownership of technical revenue initiatives while working closely with key business partners.
