Austin Youth Initiatives Program Stewardship VISTA The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program works with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The AmeriCorps members serving with the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program work in such diverse fields as education, health, waste reduction, and housing to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities. Member Duties : The City of Austin Youth Initiatives Office (YIO) Program Stewardship VISTA will create new recruitment strategies for Youth Initiatives Office programs and develop a marketing campaign for one YIO program. They will develop new systems to improve program outcomes and participant engagement. And they will establish an Alumni Network that allows the Youth Initiatives Office to both monitor long-term outcomes of program participation and utilize program alumni to bolster current programs.
