You will own critical system architecture, drive infrastructure reliability, and build at scale. Your work will directly enable millions of hourly workers to access financial freedom by ensuring our platform remains secure, performant, and highly available.\n\nWe operate at the intersection of fintech, embedded finance, and real-time payroll systems—building products that handle millions of transactions with sub-second performance.\n\nIf you are a problem solver who thrives on automation, securing complex infrastructure, and building scalable, reliable systems that power high-performance applications, you’ll love working with us.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nArchitect, automate, and manage our cloud infrastructure using Terraform.\n\nOversee the reliability, performance, and monitoring of our systems using self-hosted Grafana, Sentry, and Laravel Nightwatch.\n\nManage infrastructure and specialized environments for AI, data science, and ML workloads.\n\nDrive security and compliance efforts, including helping with SOC2 and PCI DSS audits and implementing technical controls.\n\nDevelop and maintain internal tools to support cross-functional teams.\n\nManage AI integrations and internal AI tools.\n\nRequired Experience & Qualifications:\n\n3+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).\n\nStrong expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and automation.\n\nStrong security mindset.\n\nStrong coding background; must be willing to learn/work with our PHP/Laravel stack.\n\nExperience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases (any database experience is okay).\n\nAbility to manage infrastructure for AI/ML/Data Science workloads.\n\nBonus Qualifications:\n\nExperience handling compliance audits (e.g., SOC2, PCI DSS).\n\nExperience working in a fast paced startup environment.\n\nAbility to periodically travel for team headquarters meetings and company on-sites.\n\nAdditional Details\n\nLocation: This is a remote position based in the United States.\n\nCompensation: The annual base salary for this role is $138,000. The base pay for this role is determined using many factors, such as education, skills and experience and is reflective of Clair Series stage and size. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package which includes equity, benefits and additional perks.
