As a Structural Engineer at SSE, you are responsible for performing design work on assigned projects with other engineers and technicians to enable the success of our clients and our people.\r\nCore Responsibilities\r\n1. Design and Technical Work 90%\r\nEnsure clear and comprehensive designs that comply with current technical standards and regulations.\r\nKey Activities:\r\nPerforms design work\r\nPrepares portions of project documents\r\nEdits specifications\r\nPerforms research and investigations\r\nAssists with structural engineering on projects of all sizes\r\n2. Project Management 5%\r\nEnsure efficiency, profitability, and on-time delivery of projects leading to high levels of client satisfaction.\r\nKey Activities:\r\nPrepares for and participates in project meetings\r\nWorks on multiple projects concurrently\r\n3. Administration 5%\r\nKeep projects up to date in Ajera to ensure clients are invoiced accurately and SSE is paid in a timely manner.\r\nKey Activities:\r\nEnsure documents and emails are filed appropriately\r\nAccurately record and submit time for each project\r\nQualifications\r\nRequired:\r\nBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program\r\nEngineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months\r\n0-4 years of related experience\r\nPassion for structural engineering, innovation, and design\r\nSelf-motivated, strong work ethic, and commitment to success of both team members and clients\r\nProficient use of the English language, both verbal and written, and adaptable to all audiences\r\nPhysically able to conduct field inspection and testing as assigned\r\nMaintain a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record\r\nPreferred:\r\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program\r\nInternship completed with focus in structural engineering\r\nProfessional Activities: Member of professional organization\r\nCommunity Activities: Involved in local outreach activities, university engineering clubs, etc.\r\nCompensation:The starting hourly compensation for this role is $32-$35.
