They will be responsible for performing basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers. All welders will be expected to weld in a flat position and understand what a quality weld looks like.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWeld and assemble parts to company standardsAssemble parts using a variety of tools and methodsBecome proficient in the use of the equipment required by the job functionMay be required to explore ways of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being doneExperienced welders will be responsible for performing finishing sanding, scraping, BBs and other clean-up dutiesFollow departmental employee objectives, standards or directionsAdhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelinesFollow company policies and proceduresMinimum RequirementsA high school diploma/GED or equivalent experience is required. Additional training, education, or certification in welding is preferred.2 years of related experience and a score of at least 7 on Morbark weld test is required in lieu of High School diploma/GED.Experience is preferred in one or more of the following welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, or FCAW.Knowledge and Skills RequirementsBasic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and modelsAbility to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals)Ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructionsAbility to arrange things or actions in a particular order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, pictures, etc.)Ability to read basic prints/schematicsAbility to read and use a tape measure, rule, and square to fit parts and assembliesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 pounds from floor to chest to high shelvingAbility to perform frequent postural changes such as sitting, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, lifting, stooping and twistingAbility to see details at a close range (within a few feet) and judge which of several objects is closer or further awayNote
