Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security.\nTo help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a level I or II Avionics Engineer to support integration, testing, and operations of hypersonic aircraft electrical and avionics systems. The avionics system is critical to mission success and interfaces with every subsystem, therefore this position will include collaborating with other system owners to understand test requirements and operations support needs. You must be comfortable receiving direction and guidance from lead avionics engineers and taking ownership of your responsibilities.\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nSupport integration, test, and operations of hypersonic vehicle launch system avionics and electrical systems\nWrite and perform procedures\nAddress vehicle discrepancies\nSupport vehicle system trouble shooting\nMaintain configuration control over major avionics system elements including wiring diagrams, 3D CAD, work orders, etc.\nCoordinate with other subsystem leads to develop requirements, test plans, and procedures\nCoordinate with engineers across a broad spectrum of disciplines to understand requirements and engineer technical solutions\nPerform analysis to gauge system design adequacy and performance to meet program requirements\nCoordinate with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure technical and programmatic requirements are met\nCoordinate with external customers to support range integration, launch license applications, safety documentation and analyses, and payload integration\nCreate presentations and support design reviews throughout vehicle development\nSupport ground and/or flight test, as required\nRegular and comprehensive communication to the Avionics Lead on a weekly and monthly basis\nDemonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments\nQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nRequired Qualifications:\nKnowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, avionics, electronics, software development, circuit design experience, experimental aircraft and/or launch vehicle integration\nExperience with troubleshooting Ethernet networks\nExperience creating wiring diagrams and/or circuit schematics\nExperience with flight vehicle troubleshooting and modifications\nExperience with electrical design analysis such as power budgets, thermal analysis, or RF budgets\nExperience with system analysis, such as telemetry bandwidth and/or telemetry link margin\nExcellent written communication and documentation skills\nAbility to quickly adapt to changing priorities\nAbility to work on their own initiative and prioritize tasking to fit within the business goals\nComplex aerospace system development\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical power systems\nExperience with data acquisition and instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain)\nKnowledge of environmental testing (vibration, thermal, shock)\nExperience with architecting Avionics and Data Acquisition systems for experimental vehicles\nExperience with IEEE 802.3 networking standards and IRIG-106 telemetry standards\nExperience with being on a Mission Control Center console during flight operations\nSecurity clearance\nRequired Computer Skills:\nExperience in C/C++, Python, XML\nMS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)\nPreferred Computer Skills:\nSiemens Capital/Mentor Graphics\nMatlab\nLabview\nFamiliarity with configuration management systems – Jira (preferred)\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\nLevel I ($80,600-$105,800): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 0-2 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience\nLevel II ($98,000-$142,300): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 2-5 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience\nSpecial remarks regarding work environment, if applicable\nPosition on-site based in Mojave, CA\nTravel, as needed, to support the department.
