TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR/ROUTING SPECIALIST
SALARY AND TERMS Twelve (12) month (240 days) contract, Pay 804, Grade 14, plus benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based experience. FLSA: Non Exempt SUMMARY: The Transportation Supervisor/Routing Specialist is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the daily operations of special needs transportation services and to assist the Director of Transportation with the support, skills, and knowledge necessary to ensure the most safe and efficient operation of the District transportation system. Other essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Additional duties may be assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust have knowledge of the computerized routing system (TransFinder) with 2 years or more experience.Update and maintains computerized routing system.Must be able to do spreadsheets and reports.Prepares, maintains and distributes all computerized routes for Special Needs Transportation.Provides routing updates to school officials, drivers, monitors and aides.Prepares Spreadsheets/ReportsMonitor drivers route performance ensuring that they are ran on time and in accordance with route sheet.Make recommendations for future equipment and personnel needs.Must maintain a valid CDL at all times.Supervises and operates base station for mobile radiosDispatches buses, drivers, aides and monitors.Periodic inspection of buses.Assist with in-service of driversAssists in downloading, maintain and reviewing of DVR camera systemResponsible for preparing all regular, evening, summer routesResponsible for bidding of regular and summer runsResponsible for investigating incidents and accidents involving busesObtain estimates of damage to buses.Responsible for taking drivers and aides for pre and post drug testing after accidents.Maintains student arrival/departure, student information sheets.Responsible for supervision of drivers, aides and monitors.Responsible for preparing evaluations for drivers, aides and monitors.Responsible for maintaining and inspecting pre-trips to ensure that results are accurate for the end of the year evaluations.Responsible for administering disciplinary actions for incidents, accidents, behaviors.Maintains a record of bus damages for each yearObtain estimates for damage to busesTakes an active role in solving discipline problems that occur on school buses.Update route request from driversResponsible for updating Director on the status of runs.
