DescriptionCMS Mechanical is offering up to $38.00 per hour for Journeymen Pipefitters to start!CMS Mechanical self-performs work in both the commercial and industrial sectors, including scopes of work related to the provision, installation, and service of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, process piping/systems, and energy systems. The latter includes electrical generation and cogeneration systems, as well as all related peripheral elements necessary to deliver fully functional systems to our customers.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESAssemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and pipe supports used to carry water, steam, air, and other liquids and gases.Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specificationsInspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using a pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methodsSelect pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to the specificationMeasure and mark pipes for cutting or threadingAttach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipmentAssemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering or threading jointsLay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprintsTurn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gas or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenchesCut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders or pipe bendersRemove and replace worn componentsOther duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma and 8 or more years of previous pipefitter experienceStrong experience in mechanical constructionAbility to read blueprints and drawingsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong communication skills with ability to coordinate work with other team membersStrong organizational skills to effectively manage time and resourcesAbility to work independentlySupervisory Responsibilities* Works under the direction of a SuperintendentWorking ConditionsPhysical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materialsAbility to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project siteRegularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reachWork is performed in outside weather conditions on jobsitesMust be able to travel
