The Electrical Engineer provides electrical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables in support of federal infrastructure projects.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform electrical engineering design and production support for new construction and renovation projects\nDevelop complete construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and supporting calculations\nApply knowledge of both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers\nReview electrical engineering work products for code compliance, constructability, and quality assurance\nCoordinate across disciplines to ensure integration of electrical systems with overall project design\nEstimate design effort and support negotiations with Architectural-Engineering (A/E) firms and General Contractors\nReview contractor submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction\nConduct field observations to verify existing conditions and support renovation and rehabilitation design efforts\nEnsure professional quality, technical accuracy, and coordination of all engineering deliverables under the contract\nPrepare and deliver briefings and technical documentation to senior leadership\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university\nMinimum of five years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with demonstrated experience in Design and Contract Document preparation for new and existing buildings similar to the building types prevalent in the NAVFAC Washington Area of Responsibility.\nExtensive knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA 70 (NEC), NESC, and DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).\nDemonstrated experience with interdisciplinary coordination required for Contract Document preparation.\nExperience conducting field observation to verify/obtain the existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems and incorporating these conditions into the design for a renovation/rehabilitation project.\nDemonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software, such as Microsoft Office products.\nDemonstrated knowledge of specifications development and coordination, using Government Based specification software.\nExperience in Construction Management/Scheduling and Cost Estimating\nAbility to prepare and provide high-level briefs to senior leadership.\nExcellent Oral and written communication skills\n\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds\nMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time\nMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically\nSECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
