Duties must be performed in accordance with food health and safety procedures as well as the facility’s policies and procedures.\n\nJob Duties\n\nSet up dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order\nPrepare meals under the direction of dietary manager and cook\nDeliver dishes and trays at designated times and rooms\nTake down dining areas and collect plates, glasses, dishes, trash, etc.\nDiscard leftovers and take out garbage\nClean food preparation areas, kitchen, dishes, and equipment\nClean other others of facility as directed\nStock ingredients and monitor, food, beverage, and equipment/supplies inventory as directed\nEnsure that food is provided to residents consistent with orders or diet instructions\nCommunicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisors\nAttend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed\nReport all resident, staff, or other concerns to the appropriate department head\nReport all incidents, accidents, unsafe situations, and concerns immediately\nMaintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations relating to responsibilities\nEnsure that responsibilities are performed consistent with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations as well as facility policies and procedures\n\nSupervisory Responsibility\n\nThere are no supervisory responsibilities for this position. However, the position requires communication with nursing home staff to ensure that specific policies, procedures, and systems are implemented correctly.\n\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work\n\nThis position is within a healthcare facility that operates every day. There will be scheduled times of work on the weekends and holidays. Significant events can occur at any given time that require working. Ongoing direction and support may be necessary if systems are not properly implemented, continuously improved, and monitored.\n\nWork Environment and Physical Demands\n\nThis position generally will require physical activity. It may at times require walking to various locations within a facility. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and may require some use of machinery consistent with the job duties.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
