This intersection of ideas, beliefs, and skills is what makes us unique enough to lead the world’s largest network of digitally connected energy storage systems.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\nWe are looking for a Power Plant Operations Engineer (PPOE) to join our Network Operations team that operates, maintains, and optimizes performance of Stem’s full. portfolio of C&I-sited behind-the-meter (BTM) and front-of-the-meter (FTM) energy storage systems (ESS). You will have the opportunity to work with a stellar team building bleeding edge technologies in Artificial Intelligence, IOT Networking, Energy Storage use-cases and advanced hardware/controls integration to revolutionize the grid. An ideal candidate has a solid Power Electronics background and loves being the subject matter expert (SME) on deployed systems, developing and owning technical relationships with equipment OEMs, identifying and resolving equipment and operational issues, and representing Stem in mission-critical operational improvement relationships with partners and asset owners to achieve real business outcomes.\nWe seek a customer-oriented, hands-on self-starter who is analytical and detail-\noriented, with a commitment to excellence and a passion to create world-class\nsolutions. To succeed at Stem, they must take ownership, be curious and motivated, and be prepared to be part of a first-in-class, high-performance team.\n\nResponsibilities:\nIdentify, prioritize, and troubleshoot ESS equipment and operational incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies, and operational impact.\nCollaborate with Product Development Team to ensure operational sustainability point of view is considered during NPI.\nCreate KPIs to analyze and discover possible growing issues and opportunities for improvement.\nDevelop tools and processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.\nCreate new rules for our data engine, to support strategic root cause corrections.\nProvide timely response to all incidents, outages, and performance alerts. Categorize issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams.\nDocument all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures.\nCoordinate with field technicians during installation and operational issue resolution.\nWork with internal and external technical and service teams to support both temporary and permanent solutions to system issues, and to create and/or update knowledge base articles.\nPerform basic systems testing and operational tasks. (Installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.)\nLead multiple ad hoc technical teams in operational environments with high uptime requirements.\nTrain and Support Tier 1 team on new Systems, Devices and Projects.\nRequirements:\nBS degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering or related field.\n1-3+ years’ experience with systems that incorporate batteries, solar, and power conversion\nsystems.\nAptitude to quickly learn new systems/technical applications.\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented personality, demanding high quality performance from self and colleagues.\nBasic knowledge of network communication architectures and protocols.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and Stem technical personnel in high stress situations.\nAbility to think creatively to resolve problems.\nExperience with Jira & Confluence, SQL, Python, Linux/ command line, Big Data\nvisualization, relational databases are a plus.\nKnowledge in electrical power and metering systems a plus.\nLocation: This position is based in our Broomfield, CO office or US Remote.
