Technical associate degree and greater than 10-12 years of related experience. A high school diploma and at least 12+ years of related experience.\n· Previous experience performing client work planning, job hazards analysis, material procurement, or piping system installation and testing utilizing client specific processes, programs, procedures, and systems is preferred.\n· Current or previous qualifications as a peer inspector.\n· Demonstrated previous work planning experience in its operating facilities.\n· Previous Experience with electrical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national piping codes and standards including NFPA and NEC.\n· Previous Experience developing installation/modification work instructions and work plans including originating, revising, and closing the work package.\n· Previous Experience performing task specific hazard analysis for construction activities. This includes work scope walk down, identifying the hazards, working with Subject Matter Experts to specify controls, and incorporating the controls into the work instructions.\n· Ability to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions and to inspect equipment condition\n· Knowledge of nuclear facility design including the application of safety class and safety significant codes and standards\n· Ability to prepare/revise construction plans, develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.\n· Ability to withstand an outdoor environment and perform walk downs that may include climbing.\n· Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE ‘’Q’’ clearance.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\n· Provide construction engineering services in support of fabrication, installation and maintenance performed by the Construction Department.\n· Provide technical support in determining solutions to complex problems and be responsive to organization needs in answering complex problems where judgment also has to be applied.\n· Prepare/revise construction plans, develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.\n· Work with complex problems as assigned to drive things to closure and resolution.\n· Performing walk downs and constructability reviews of proposed installation/modification design.\n· Performing material take off for installations/modifications.\n· Procurement of construction field material for installations/modifications.\n· Developing work instructions and work plans for installations/ modifications.\n· Performing job hazards analysis for installations/modifications.\n· Providing oversight and inspection of field installation/modification activities.\n· Performing post installation/modification evaluation to ensure completed work meets applicable design, specifications, codes and standards.\n· Providing support of post installation/modification testing activities.\n· Construction engineering services shall be provided using department's processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by department.\n· The successful candidate will be required to facilitate resolution of installation, schedule and technical issues which will require significant interface with multiple organizations including Construction Mgt., Subcontract Mgt., Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Operating Facility Systems Engineering, and Operating Facility Mgt.\n· Resolving these issues will often require the successful candidate to exercise discretion and independent judgment in order to determine the appropriate path forward after the various possibilities have been considered.\nClearance Requirements:\n· “An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties.
