This position provides technical and analytical work to develop, design, and/or support software solutions across multiple U.S. defense industries. Duties include participating in software design activities, developing code based on the architecture and technical design, creating and performing unit tests, enhancing the software development process, and playing an active role in test case planning for components and functions developed by the project team. The selected candidate will work with other engineering disciplines and use their software development expertise to create robust technical solutions across multiple technology areas.\nResponsibilities\nComplete a technical project independently and manage other engineers\nApply fundamental knowledge of software engineering principles and core concepts (e.g., data structures, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, and databases) to create software solutions that meet project-based needs\nReview customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them\nParticipates in code reviews with the systems engineers, software architects, and other technical staff\nApply core computer science concepts in the development, testing, and documentation of software units\nResponsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget\nDesign, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems\nAbility to complete a technical project independently\nProvide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments\nDocument component and subsystem specifications and material requirements\nAnalyze designs as necessary\nSpecify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services\nSupport the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements\nDevelop prototypes to retire key development risks\nCommunicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required\nParticipate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals\nParticipate as a member of the testing team to plan and review test cases within software solution components\nProvide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel\nInteract with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress\nSupport, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience\nProven Computer Science fundamentals in embedded development, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis\nExperience in one of the following: C, C++, C# and/or Java\nExperience with Linux/Unix\nExcellent verbal and written communication\nWilling to travel up to 25% as necessary\nU.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.\nWork Schedule\nHybrid work schedule, must be in office Tuesday - Thursday.
