ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESVerify patient identification and presence of appropriate signed informed procedural consent. Identify/review allergies and history of contrast reaction prior to all procedures by reviewing patient records and questioning the patient.Verify package integrity and expiration dates on all sterile supplies. Prepare patient and equipment for utilization of sterile technique. After procedure, prepare equipment/supplies for sterilization.Participate in the procedural timeout.Monitor and record all procedural data and maintain procedural event logs.Provide patient comfort while familiarizing the patient with the equipment and supplies needed for the procedure. Apply the necessary monitors and prepare access site(s) including the necessary sterile drapes.Verify appropriate medications and/or contrast agents and dosages with nursing staff and physician.When scrubbing into a procedure, use sterile and aseptic technique as required for infection prevention.Handle blood and bodily fluids per policy.Advocate for radiation safety and protection for self and coworkers.
