The ideal candidate will have experience in full-stack Java application development, with expertise across both front-end and back-end technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing scalable, high-quality software solutions that support mission-critical VA initiatives in an Agile environment.\n\nThe candidate must reside within the continental US.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDrive system design and architecture decisions for scalability, performance, and maintainability.\nDesign and develop applications across backend (Java, Spring Boot, APIs), frontend (React/Angular), and database (PostgreSQL).\nAct as a technical point of contact and translate business requirements into solutions.\nConduct regular code reviews and enforce standards to ensure performance, security, and maintainability.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and application issues.\nWork with product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to ensure seamless delivery.\nMentor developers, assign tasks, and ensure timely delivery.\nParticipate across the full software lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.\nImplement testing strategies using tools like JUnit, Cypress, and Playwright.\nFollow Agile best practices and proactively address vulnerabilities.\nStay updated with technologies and improve development processes and architecture.\nTake on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of relevant experience as a Full Stack Java Developer.\nAdept in Java (17+), Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, React or Angular, PostgreSQL/SQL, Python.\nExperience mentoring developers and leading engineering teams.\nAbility to design and work with scalable, distributed systems.\nStrong verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAdditional Qualifications:\nExperience with the VA or other Government agencies.\nCertifications in Java, Cloud, or Agile methodologies.\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).\n\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong understanding of system performance, scalability, and observability.\nAbility to obtain government clearance.\nBenefits:\nMedical/Dental/Vision\nPTO + Federal Holidays\nCorporate Laptop\nTraining opportunities\n401(k) with employer match\nRemote work options\nNote: Selected candidates will be required to complete fingerprinting at a government facility and undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.\nMind Computing is an equal opportunity employer.
