environment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nUnder supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom instructional events and other educational or non educational activities.\n\nAssists the teacher in implementing special strategies and interventions developed by the teacher for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities\n\nServes as a resource person about the student(s) in communicating with the teachers regarding specific instruction with students relative to specific goal attainment\n\nWork with individuals and small groups of students to:\n\nReinforce material initially introduced by the teacher\n\nAssist with self-help and independence skills\n\nImplement remedial and review exercises, practice and drill work as outlined by the teacher\n\nAid independent study, enrichment or remedial work as provided by the teacher\n\nHelp students master instructional tasks assigned by teachers\n\nAssist in test taking, tape-recording books and reading to students\n\nObserve and make notes of the observation on student performance or learning behaviors, such as listening to students read, or other activities related to developing oral communication skills\n\nImplement curriculum modifications or accommodations designed by professional staff\n\nDiscrete Trials\n\nWhen necessary, accompanies assigned student(s) assigned to lunch, recess, or to nurse’s office\n\nWhen necessary, assists student(s) with physical tasks if there is a difficulty\n\nAssist teachers with non-instructional duties, such as:\n\nAttendance checking\n\nClassroom supervision of students in preparation for lunch, bus loading and unloading, cleanup, and play periods\n\nEscorting and supervising movement of students throughout the school\n\nChecking books and materials, correcting papers, proctoring testing and providing make up work assistance\n\nToileting, including diaper changing\n\nOther clerical duties related to classroom organization and instruction\n\nAssist in the administrative duties of the school during normal school hours, including such duties as:\n\nSupervising students passing in the corridors and during fire drills and assemblies\n\nAssisting students in situations other than their regular assignment as requested by the teacher\n\nIn the event of an emergency, temporary assignment by the principal to additional administrative duties (lunchroom, recess, and playground duties will be assigned only in emergency situations)\n\nSet up and operate instructional and/or assistive technology equipment under the direction of the teacher.\n\nParticipate in available professional development activities appropriate to district expectations.\n\nRequirements\n\nAt leastone (1)year of relevant experience preferred\n\nCompensation\n\nCompensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Teachers Association Unit C collective bargaining agreement.\n\nEmployment Eligibility\n\nEmployment is contingent upon successful completion of a CORI and SORI background check and fingerprint-based national criminal history check, in
