The ideal candidate is technically strong, hands‑on, and collaborative, with experience working across the full lifecycle of automation projects.\n\nEssential Job Functions\n\nDefine functional requirements through client workshops and documentation analysis\n\nDevelop detailed system designs and integration architectures\n\nProgram, configure, test, and troubleshoot SCADA (Ignition) and PLC systems\n\nInstall and configure Ignition SCADA including architecture, licensing, scripting, reporting, and database transactions\n\nDevelop and maintain templates and User Defined Types (UDTs)\n\nWork within server‑client architectures and distributed systems\n\nPerform code development, testing, and validation for automation systems\n\nCoordinate and execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)\n\nTroubleshoot communication networks and industrial protocols\n\nSupport commissioning and post‑installation system performance\n\nCollaborate with cross‑functional teams and clients for successful project delivery\n\nMaintain flexibility to contribute across all phases of SCADA development\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree (4-year) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Chemical Engineering\n\n5–8 years of experience in industrial automation and controls engineering\n\nHands‑on experience with ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, as well as Ignition SCADA (including Perspective and Vision modules) and MES systems such as Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley and Siemens\n\nExperience with Ignition platform including installation, configuration, system architecture, licensing, scripting (Python), reporting, and database transactions\n\nStrong knowledge of communication protocols including OPC (UA & DA), TCP/IP, UDP, and XML\n\nExperience developing and troubleshooting templates and User Defined Types (UDTs)\n\nExperience working within server‑client architectures and distributed systems\n\nProven ability in code development, testing, and system validation\n\nIndustrial networking experience including Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, and TCP/IP\n\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nMaster’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline\n\nExperience in water/wastewater or industrial process environments\n\nStrong background in MES integrations\n\nAdvanced troubleshooting across SCADA, PLCs, and network systems\n\nExperience working in full lifecycle automation project environments\n\nPhysical Demands\n\nRegularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.\n\nAbility to perform work in a standing, stooping, sitting or bending position for extended periods of time.\n\nMust have manual dexterity to operate the equipment and tools required for this position.\n\nMust be able to quickly respond (with hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it responds.\n\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.\n\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.\n\nAbility to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.\n\nApproximately 60% Office.\n\nApproximately 40% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, chemicals and industrial facilities.
