The apprentice will learn from experienced technicians and gain the technical skills required to produce precision metal components in a production environment.\n\nReporting To\nProduction Manager\n\nEssential Job Function\nAssist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of multi-slide and four-slide machines.\nLearn from skilled machinist to select, install, align dies, rolls, cutting tools, guides and stops to set up machines.\nLearn to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.\nObserve and follow quality control procedures to ensure product specifications are met.\nSupport senior machinists with tooling changes, adjustments, and troubleshooting.\nConduct basic machine maintenance and cleaning tasks.\nMeasure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.\nKeep work area clean and organized according to safety and 5S standards.\nComplete appropriate production paperwork as needed.\nMaintain a clean and safe working environment and follow all safety regulations and procedures.\n\nSkills and Abilities\nStrong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.\nAbility to read basic technical drawings or blueprints.\nWillingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.\nGood communication skills and ability to take direction.\nBasic math skills and understanding of measurement units.\n\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required; vocational training in machining or manufacturing is a plus.\n1-2 yrs working in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably.\n\nPhysical Requirements and Work Environment\nThis role is required to stand, walk, and bend multiple hours. Employee must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
