Must have KY State Certification for Instructional Leadership.Position Summary:The Assistant Principal / Building Assessment Coordinator serves as a key member of the high school leadership team, supporting the principal in the overall administration, supervision, and operation of the school. This position is responsible for managing state, district, and local assessments, maintaining compliance with department of education standards, and training staff on data-driven instructional strategies. This position promotes a positive school culture by supporting student achievement and behavior, and ensuring the effective coordination and administration of all local, state, and federal assessments.Essential Functions:Assists with the daily operation and management of the high school.Supervises student arrival, dismissal, lunch, hallways, extracurricular activities, and other school functions.Helps maintain a safe, orderly, and positive school environment.Assists with scheduling, attendance oversight, discipline procedures, and crisis response.Coordinates and supports school events, activities, and special programs.Manages all state, district, and standardized testing programs.Supports curriculum implementation and instructional best practices aligned with district and state standards.Ensures testing procedures comply with state and district assessment guidelines.Develops and communicates testing schedules, procedures, and staff assignments, and proctors.Trains staff on assessment administration procedures, security requirements, accommodations, and protocols.Coordinates testing accommodations for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, multilingual learners, and other eligible students.Collaborates with counselors, teachers, families, and outside agencies to support student needs.Communicates effectively with families regarding academic, behavioral, and assessment-related matters.Additional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
