Massage Therapist
Description Summary/Objective Under the general direction of the Director of Therapy Services, the Massage Therapist provides therapeutic massage services to wellness and performance clients. The Massage Therapist will work independently while collaborating with other wellness and performance professionals to support recovery, mobility, and overall musculoskeletal health. Essential Functions The following includes the essential duties and responsibilities of a Massage Therapist. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Provide therapeutic massage services to performance and wellness clients. 2. Perform client assessments to determine goals, contraindications, and appropriate techniques. 3. Administer treatments such as deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and recovery-focused massage. 4. Collaborate with team members as appropriate. 5. Educate clients on muscle health, recovery strategies, posture, and mobility. 6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation per clinic policies. 7. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment. 8. Assists with the coordination of the Massage Therapy program as a part of the Performance & Wellness Team. 1. Adhere to all professional, ethical, and HIPAA standards. 2. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment This job operates in a professional clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is required to perform the following: standing, walking, using hands to finger handle or feel, bending, stooping, lifting to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires ability to perform close supervision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus and spend up to 4 hours in front of a computer. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work will vary between the hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours will vary between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Travel While the Massage Therapist will be primary assigned to one location, they may need to travel between locations to help cover clients at another facility.
